Croustade aux pommes with rum raisin ice cream à la mode

2012-05-02 Titillating Thursday: Pie à la Mode (Literally!)

This fashionable (and thus “à la mode”) dessert is called croustade aux pommes, glace rhum raisin. Most of the recipe sites I found online don’t translate “croustade aux pommes”, though one brave soul went with “flaky apple tart”. PS, it tasted even better than it looks!

I’d like to turn this site into more of a collaborative effort, if at all possible. For that, I need your help!

If you have taken a picture of Paris on your cell phone and would like to show it off to the world, why not do it here? It doesn’t have to be super artistic–there are enough photo sites of Paris as it is–just taken with a mobile phone and that’s all!

Please send a copy of your photograph to Paris.Paul.Prescott@gmail.com and I’ll let you know when it’ll be posted.

Thanks so much for your help!

    • I used to not go for sweets much myself…just cheese and cheap red instead of dessert. But since I quit drinking, I find I appreciate desserts a lot more than before.

Thanks for the comment, BJ! See you in the streets,

PS What kind of beer do you prefer with your fries?

  1. I’m a bit of a beer snob…love imports, lagers mostly, not a fan of dark beers. My favorites are Peroni, Harp and Carlsberg. Domestic US beers give me a headache. Wish I liked something a little lower in the calories, LOL ~ I had to quit drinking once for 4 months while trying to diagnose a medical issue and I lost 10 pounds in a month! And, when I started drinking again…found those ten pounds in a couple months, LOL
