You wouldn’t know it to look at it, but this shot was literally years in the making.
Riding the metro to work mornings, this shot comes into view for no more than a second. In order for me to get it, i had to 1) be able to get a seat (no easy during rush hour), 2) on the right side of the train (the left side doesn’t offer this view), and 3) snap the shutter on my cell phone just early enough to time the auto focus so that the picture was taken at the precise instant we passed this street (by far the most difficult part).
Mission accomplished! Now, does anyone have any other pointless causes to which I can dedicate the next 2 years of my life?

I’d like to turn this site into more of a collaborative effort, if at all possible. For that, I need your help!
If you have taken a picture of Paris on your cell phone and would like to show it off to the world, why not do it here? It doesn’t have to be super artistic–there are enough photo sites of Paris as it is–just taken with a mobile phone and that’s all!
Please send a copy of your photograph to Paris.Paul.Prescott@gmail.com and I’ll let you know when it’ll be posted.
Thanks so much for your help!

Good things come to those who wait. Congratulations on this photo!
Thanks Vreni! Nice to know it was worth it!
See you in the streets,
Paris Paul
Absolutely cool shot ~ worth every day it took to get it
Now you should work on getting a shot of the Eiffel from the metro in that one place it pops out near the Trocadero….
Thanks for the props, BJ!
The Eiffel Tower shot is a great challenge. And it’ll take me at least as long to get as i pass the Sacre Coeur twice a day, going to and from work, but i never take the Trocadero line!
See you in the streets,
Paris Paul
