Paris Chevaline / Horse Butcher

2012-07-10 Typical Tuesday: Velibs and Horse Butchers

In a tribute to last week’s Velib’ at Night shot by Tim D, our friend Krs at Wanna Go To Paris has sent a follow up shot!

Krs says about his photo,

Another picture with Velibs.
I took that picture near Gare de Lyon.

Thanks again, Krs!

My picture is a little more macabre. In Paris, we eat horse steak (well, some of us do), and while the number ofchevalines (horse butchers) is on a steady decline, you know you’ve stumbled across one when you see this distinctive signage.

If, like Krs, you have taken a picture of Paris on your cell phone and would like to show it off to the world, why not do it here? It doesn’t have to be super artistic–there are enough photo sites of Paris as it is–just taken with a mobile phone and that’s all!

Please send a copy of your photograph to Paris.Paul.Prescott@gmail.com and I’ll let you know when it’ll be posted.

Thanks so much for your help!

  1. Vélibs, here I come! I have already bought my ticket… (and I hope to have again the courage to really ride a vélib). Next Monday morning I will step out of the RER at the Gare de Lyon. Can´t wait!
As for your photo, I like the crinkle effect.
