Unfortunately, Paris is not all glamor, fashion and macaroons…

Please feel free to check out my Paris Inspired fiction here
If you have taken a picture of Paris on your cell phone and would like to show it off to the world, why not do it here? It doesn’t have to be super artistic–there are enough photo sites of Paris as it is–just taken with a mobile phone and that’s all!
Please send a copy of your photograph to Paris.Paul.Prescott@gmail.com and I’ll let you know when it’ll be posted.
Thanks so much for your help!

Indeed. I remember that guy, if it is the same one I am thinking of. He would sometimes wash up in the Wallace Fountain, and there was one rainy afternoon I tried to give him a granola bar I’d made, but he refused, probably wisely. I mean, rule of the street: you don’t know who has put what in the food they may be offering you, eh? It’s coming up on another season that is so hard to handle in terms of indigent and homeless (for them and for us, who are confronted with their existence and often helpless at what to do about it). The crew down in the Place des Fêtes métro, for example. ‘Course some of them are a pain in the rear, too!
I wish him and his compatriots well as we close in on another winter season.

Hi babe,
I think you were with me when I took this picture. Sad indeed. I hope they find a way to keep warm and out of trouble this winter…

Okay, well, yes that IS the same guy then, lol.
At least the City of Paris lets them stay in the metro stations when it is super cold. But I just wish that there were no street people, period, not because they “mar the cityscape” or anything like that (ugh! where’s people’s compassion?) but because I just wish that communities and society did not struggle with such a thing as poverty and homelessness. *sigh* Paris is definitely not exempt…

You know how I love Paris, but it´s really sad how many people are sans domicile fixe.
It’s a universal problem, unfortunately, and even the cities as pretty as Paris are not immune. Thanks for the visit, Vreni!
